Here's my story:

My boyfriend of 2 years broke up with me out of the clear blue sky about a year ago. I called my best friend Brian who lived 3 hours away pretty much immediately and made him stay on the phone with me because I was so freaked out with being in this apartment all alone. After a three hour phone conversation, I told Brian to hold on because someone was knocking at my door. I look out my window and see Brian standing at my door, holding a dozen pink roses. He had come all the way up to Columbus to cheer me up. He took me out on the town and stayed with me until I fell asleep. Then he had to go home because he had to work early the next morning. How's that for a true friend?

that's friendship at its best. (are you sure he only wants a friendship? he sounds too good to let go if he wants more.)

i work for an animal shelter and we were in dire need of a new furnace. it was going to cost more money than the shelter had in the bank to get a new one, so we were going to have to shut it down until we could raise the extra money for it. (it already costs about $12K a month to run the place and it's run totally on donations.) one of my best friends came in, gave us a check for several thousand dollars and the name of a furnace guy who'd agreed to give us a good deal on it.

it's friends like the ones that we have that really make the stars sparkle in our lives. you must be an awfully good friend too in order to have inspired someone else to want to be that way for you.

That's very cool. I think the nicest things my friends have done for me is to be there for me when I needed them, to listen when i just wanted to vent about how crappy my day or my week or life is going, and to know when I need cheering up. I can't really think of examples but it's really the little things that I appreciate most.

that's a brilliant tale, one that makes you sense solid after an prolonged day at artwork! The squirrel feels like he became into having a solid time driving the motor vehicle! Him and the cat make solid acquaintances! :)
