Actually, I read that a U.N. survey showed that seventy-three percent of Palestinians support peace with Israel. Seventy percent of Palestinians supported the agreements in 2000 without the right of return for Palestinian refugees into Israel and a fair land swap for settlements. It was Arafat who caused the trouble. Granted I don't condone the election of militants but aid can't be held back forever and at some point, Olmert has to deal with Abbas and make good on a timeline for the roadmap and the promises. That means ending construction of settlements and preparing East Jerusalem as a capital. It means clearing out settlements past the sixty-seven border and preparing financial compensation and a land swap or else, building of houses for Palestinians displaced by settlements, releasing prisoners, lifting some aspects of the road blockades and security checkpoints, etc.
