Turn on the TV and Dish box.

Press the "Guide" button slowly. One press will show you all possible channels, another press will only show you the channels you subscribe to.

Press until only your subscribed channels are visible.

Scroll up/down and try selecting different shows currently playing. Repeat until you get the hang of this.

While watching a show, hit the rewind button, then play. Later, play with the skip back and skip forward buttons. Repeat until you get the hang of this.

Bring up the guide and scroll to the right to shows that are up-coming. Pick a show and hit the red "Record" button.

A new screen will appear but just hit "OK" to record this one episode.

Later, hit the "DVR" button and you will see that the show you selected is recorded. Play with this until the amusement wears off.

Read your manual. This is a wealth of information.

Contact your DISH support representative for any questions about setting it up or hooking it up. They will be available for assistance and will know the details of your setup.

this sounds silly, because my 5 year old knows how to use it. she can pause, rewind, set up recordings...etc.

my husband works for dish, and he wants to bring her to work one day so she can show people how easy it is to use.
