Hey it was just an idea I thought I would throw out there,...your answers simply prove my point and I ment regime more in a sense of not a ruling party but a part of culture that tries to rule over others thoughts and behaviors and selves as incorrect if not seen as being the norm

In this fight between parents and the chilfree, always notice one trend: Parents who had planned & wanted a family will almost NEVER scorn you. Its only those who become parents accidentally, or because it was the "thing to do", or due to societal pressures will tell you how sefish and bad you are. Talk about misery loving company. They need assurance that their choice is the best and they are not the only ones going through the rollercoaster ride of parenthood. Afterall, why should they clean poop and put up with tantrums while you travel to Europe? Scorning is a way of manipulating the chilfree to join them. Last form of defense for their choice. Really ignorant because the chilfree are not really attacking their choice. And you will find the majority of the population demeaning you for YOUR choice because the majority of American population WAS an accident!
I sometimes have to wonder what these people who claim to have become "real" women after giving birth were, before they became mothers.

I know that my sisters and a lot of their churchy friends actively scorn women who don't have children. I get it every on every visit. (My favorite line thus far is being told "how said it is that [I am] content to be half a woman"!) So it does happen.
On the other hand, I also have good friends with children who know I'm not going to, and it's simply a non-issue. We respect each other's choices mutually, and I share happiness in their kids' milestones because it's my friends' life's work.
So it's not a shadowy regime...I think people tend to bond together with people who have similar values. My sisters, for some reason, need to find people who share similar contempt for other people. But they're hardly representative of all mothers.

Infertility is a sad and difficult situation. It is wrong to judge a woman for not conceiving. She may have tried many xinfertility xdrugsx (censors attempted to block xinfertility xdrugsx), attempts, infertility treatments, surgeries, you name it. Surrogacy is becoming a wonderful option for some women but they must have stable, monogamous relationships and money in order to make arrangements. It does allow for the screening of the carrier for health problems, xdrugx and xalcoholx use, STDs, alcoholism, intelligence, genetic defects, disease, psychiatric problems, relationship issues and other problems. Apparently, a great percentage of the population would fail these tests if they were required before becoming a parent. That is how strict surrogacy is.
I don't think people scorn those who choose not to have children. It is considered different. I don't see any benefit to having children that are unwanted. This hasn't been solved by reproductive rights for women. If it had been, women would not have children when infected with hepatitis, on the streets, addicted to and suffering from mental health problems, no? No, those issues must be dealt with separately but pregnancy amongst certain groups should be discouraged. I really believe that. A friend of the family's daughter had her infant taken away and adopted out because of uncontrolled psychosis. She wanted to win the father over for marriage. She was obsessed by him and he was indifferent. He wanted to sell the baby into adoption online. Both of them need some serious counselling, believe me, but some people should not have children. I am not judging, just being realistic. That is more of an issue that say, infertility or not having children by choice.
Don't listen to this rhetoric. Just correct them and ignore them. Don't be friends with people who disagree with your lifestyle. You can always switch college classes, groups of friends or quit your job and work elsewhere if it gets bad.

if they are in a fascist regime, do they get the choice whether they reproduce or not? maybe i need to look up the definition of fascist. (not being condescending, sorry if it sounds that way)
by conceive do you mean have sex but use methods that either disrupt the possibility(birth control i.e. fertility awareness, synthetic hormones, barrier methods etc...) or eliminate alltogether (removal of ovaries in women castration in men)
or
do you mean just not have sex?
this "Society" regardless, is ill in the fact that they are scorning an instinct of a woman or man, i think. being mothers, this societal fear could be based upon their traditional aspect and fear that the fate of their traditions will be slowly eliminated into non-importance.
if the mother is cast out, and she knows what is good for her(whether she's ever experienced it or not), she will move on and find her place somewhere else.
i hope that made sense, i have a hard time writing my analysis of things, especially on the computer... but your "question" struck a chord in me... :)

I have two teenage daughters but I never feel any sort of scorn for women who choose not to have children. I know that parenthood is not for everybody and I'm glad that we live in a society where people can opt out if they so choose. People who choose not to have children are not selfish or immature. They simply are being honest with themselves and they realize that having and raising children is not for them.

I think that women who choose not to have children are called smart. Love my children but it is a lot of work and worry and when they become teenagers they hate you.
To not have children in an over populated world makes sense.
I thought that Opray made it okay for women to choose to have or not to have children?
