Kensington Market...there's Global Cheese there (probably the best one I've ever dealt with...friendly and helpful even when they're busy..which is always) its right downtown on Kensington just south of Baldwin (Spadina and Dundas area)

What you need to be buying for poutine is cheese curds. You can find cheese curds in many grocery stores and cheese stores. Just look wherever they sell cheese, although not all places that sell cheese will sell cheese curds
