Tom Paxton is always good. So are Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie, especially together. If you like Bluegrass ("Folk Music with Overdrive"), try Ricky Skaggs, who does it more in the old style.

The Indigo Girls are really folksy, and have some good songs like 'Closer to Fine', 'Little Perennials', and 'Least Complicated' to name a few.
