What else does he need to do if not?

If Tom Brady breaks Manning's record it will mean he will be the record holder for td passes in a season & if they go undefeated still doesn't mean he will be best of all time. It's way to early to call him best when you compare to Montana, Favre, Bradshaw, who has 4 rings, & countless other HOF QB's who have played the game. I still doubt he will be best ever when he does retire. I think manning might be up there too when he retires. His lifetime stats are better than Brady's even though Brady has 3 rings & Manning has 1

Wow Jenn..........Brady won THREE Super Bowls, not to mention he was actually the 199th overall pick (sixth round) in his draft class. But yes, I hope Brady has a bad season, that way I can feel better about the fact that my inferior team doesn't have such a great player behind center. Also, I want him to have a bad season so I can jump on the chance to say that Peyton Manning (or any QB of my choosing) is better, even though there are plenty of players that have bad seasons, I only wish to single Brady out in an attempt to prove that he i not really as good as people make him out to be. I would rather be stuck in my constant haze of stupidity that to just admit that he is a good quarterback. Stay Cool

Not for going undefeated and setting a record.

The best ones are Montana, Elway and Unitas because they finished their winning drives in the postseason for touchdowns, while Brady has finished for Field Goals.

He would need a performance like The Drive, The Catch, The Greatest Game Ever or like the one Montana had vs. the Bengals to be considered the best ever.

If he keeps up this kind of performance for another 5 years or so then I will include him in the "best ever" discussion. For now, we might be able to talk top ten but I don't know that "best ever" is warranted.

Maybe best ever single season passing performance.

Probably most ever TD's in a single season.

Possibly leader of the best single-season performance by a team.

However, let me throw out a few other names that you may have forgotten:

* Elway
* Montana
* Marino
* Unitas
* Bradshaw
* Theisman
* Tarkenton
* Favre
* Namath

Throw in Brady and you have the top ten Quarterbacks... Let the arguments begin Manning, Young, Staubach, Starr and Aikman fans!!!!!

It will get him in the conversation. I hate to say one guy is the absolute best, but there are always a group who belong there if you're talking about it. Tom's always had to rely on the winning percentage and team achievements, but with the numbers he's putting up now that he has a receiving corps- Hes showing that there is no basis upon which you can exclude him from the best ever group.

He is the best ever now and does not matter if he breaks the record. He makes Manning and Farve looks like high school QB's.

Tom Brady IS the perfect QB.

He will undoubtedly have the greatest single season performance every, if he breaks the td record wins MVP and the super bowl, and I also believe this will put him wholly into the talks about greatest ever. Lets not label him with it yet though.

No, because America will still love Manning more and Brady is a 6th round average QB with PERFECT receivers and an excellent defense!

Brady, the baby out-of-wetlock dude, will still not reach 40,000 yards for his career.

Will be close.

3 Super Bowl wins. 2 MVP's. Poised to go to another Super Bowl and win the league MVP. He deserves to be mentioned with the true greats.

he's hooooot! Anyway, yes, I think he'll be the best ever (this season) if he breaks Manning's TD record. GO PATS!
