For some unknown reason, gnats have invaded my home! They seem to love flying into my face and I am constantly swatting at the "air" trying to avoid them going up my nose, in my eyes or, YUCK, down my throat! I try sleeping with my head under the blanket but that never lasts once I'm asleep! Does anyone have any tricks to keep them away from me? They are driving me insane! Thanks!

ohgosh, hahah i hate puns.
gnats are annoying, i feel your pain=[
you should buy some of those sticky sheets for catching flies and place them where the gnats usually are. and it would probably be a good idea to check around your home and make sure they don't have any eggs in your house or it'll be an ever going problem.

I have used Hot Shot® 2.3 Oz. No-Pest Strip which can be found at Lowe's and other hardware or even grocery stores. Just hang the strip where the gnats are and after about a week gnats/fruit flies are all gone and that's it! The strip lasts for 4 months and a good practice I have used is when the warmer days of spring hit I buy a new one and don't worry about the gnats coming all summer which is usually when they hit my home.

I JUST HAD THIS PROBLEM!!! I couldnt figure out where they were coming from and then one day I checked the cupboard where I used to store my potatoes. I lifted up a lunch container and there was one rotten potato and tons of those gnats or bugs! I was so disgusted. I quickly threw the potato into a shopping bag and tied it up and took it outside to the trash. I sprayed the area with a bug spray and washed it out really well. The remaining gnats in the air died within a few hours and no more gnats!!! Hope that helps.

Army Wife has it down. I work in an office where high profile clients frequent. Needless to say, it's uncool for these things to be flying around. I did the vinegar trick all over the place - including the kitchen (from where they were all originating) and within a week, hundreds of tiny gnat corpses lay in the bottom of the vinegar! I would say refill about once a week. (only about and inch worth in a 4" tall cup is necessary).

OK I got one for ya!! My dad has this great Gnat killer. All he uses is vinegar and a little dish soap in a small dish. The Gnats are attracted to the vinegar and the soap sucks them in. The all go to the dish and within a few days you will notice that you don't have them any more. You do need to change the vinegar soap out every couple of days until they are completely gone. And you should try to figure out what is bringing them in. they are attracted to old decaying fruit and vegis including potatoes that might be in a cupboard somewhere. For my dad it was his Keg-orator they liked the beer that was dripping from the tap. And trust me as much as my dad drank there were alot. Good luck and KILL THEM GNATS!!!!

Clean your house really well and I mean everywhere. When I was younger gnats invaded my closet! What I did was I took a handheld vaccum and sucked them all up I then went through my room to find the source it ended up being a rotten lunch, be sure to wash all your linens to kill any that may be hiding.
