I live in Texas and am a new Loan Officer. I wanted to go leave flyers at my neighbors doors and maybe some apartments, but i`m not sure if its against the law to do that? What about on cars windshields? just a little bit of low cost marketing.

That would be up to the local ordinances. Check with city hall and see what the rules are in the area you are targeting.

Some jurisdictions strictly limit this activity or ban it entirely. Others may require you to get a peddlar's license to do this.

Most apartment complexes would treat you as a trespasser and order you off the premises, and probably to retrieve your flyers in the process. Failure to obey that order could get you arrested for criminal trespass.

And even if the laws permit it or if there are no laws that address it you can be held responsible for cleanup costs if your flyers turn into a lot of litter flying around the area. Keep in mind that they won't have ANY trouble locating you since you'll have to put your business address and phone number on the flyers. Ask any McDonalds franchisee how expensive THAT can get!
