I went to a palmist in Skegness many years ago. It was just for fun and I wasn't going to believe any of it. I was with my boyfriend at the time and he knew a lot about me. But I went in first; he waited until I was out. And I see no way he could have handed the palmist written info. about me before hand, especially as there were things she told me that even he could not know.
It was so completely spot on. She told me about my past, and was right. She told me about my present and was right. But she got things wrong for the future; she said I'd marry a lawyer or someone working with law, and that I'd have 3 children. Those things never happened, but her predictions for the near future did, such as saying that I'd be making a trip overseas but it would be cut short because of formalities concerning a long term move away from home. No-one could have known that then, because I didn't.
This was just after finishing my A levels and the trip to Skegness was off season. It was 1976 and we had a very hot summer that year.
A few weeks later, I was invited to spend 3 months in Istanbul, where my Aunt and Uncle lived because of his job. Towards the end of the 2nd month, my Mother sent a telegram for me to return a.s.a.p. because I had been accepted by 3 of my chosen universities and had to do a lot of paperwork to confirm.
So that was true.
I am still looking for a way to explain it all logically, and I can't. Sure, my boyfriend might have known her somehow and filled her in on various details, but nobody knew about Istanbul and the premature return.
It was 99% true! Impressive.

No, I haven't, but I have a theory about fortunetellers. Some are pure fakes, but others have a gift. However, even the most powerful psychic is not right all the time. Many of them hit it right on the nail sometimes and are wayyyy off at other times. It depends on the client, and what comes to their minds and what doesn't.

I wouldn't go to one, personally.

I haven't actually been to fortunetellers, but I've been to palm readers. One in New Orleans and one in Atlantic City, NJ. They both were right on. It was really weird how much they seemed to know.

I know a lot of people are fakes, but I know some people really seem to have a gift.

I went to one who all through the reading didn't say anything about children. I found that very odd as I was Mum of two at the time!!!!!
She did however manage to spot that I had an elderly male relative who 'might' use a walking stick!!!! According to her my marriage would fail within 10 years and I'd find happiness in an unusual relationship. I'd already been married 12 years and recently celebrated my 37th wedding anniversary! Still love him too!

Seriously never found one who said anything they couldn't say to a great many other people and get something right.

It's bunkum! As Derren Brown has often proved!

No and I'm not likely to. When my mother was in her 40s, she went to a Gypsy, just for a bit of fun. The gypsy said she would have a long life and live to be 88. She died 6 weeks before her 89th birthday. When she was dying (something we both knew, although the doctors kept telling me she wasn't dying), I remembered the gypsy, but I couldn't bring myself to ask her if she remembered the prediction.
