A little spinoff of my previous question in which your least favorite song by them is their most famous song.

My favorite Kinks song is Waterloo Sunset which is probably one of their most famous songs (next to Lola which is also a fav)

Yours?

No, not everyone can own the extreme elitist taste in music I do, and I accept that. The subservient peons are jealous, why would I torment them further by getting into some primal altercation about preference. BQ. GWAR BDF. Oh wait this something I would expect from them and all their songs are classified as weird. Huh. 2. All their songs are b sides and awful come to think of it. 3. Never happened. It wouldn't be awesome it'd be squirrels in trees without nuts. 4. Yes, not nearly enough spew was contained within the album for me to rub on every orifice of my body. 5. No, I use the Internet as a source for entertainment and information. It's 7,500 times quicker and 5,000,000 times more powerful than a book.

Well, you know I have several 'favourites' for a lot of the artists I like, so here's a selection of them :~

Dreams ~ Fleetwood Mac
Edge of Seventeen ~ Stevie Nicks
Stairway to Heaven ~ Led Zeppelin
Voodoo Chile {Slight Return} ~ Jimi Hendrix
FreeBird ~ Lynyrd Skynyrd
Money ~ Pink Floyd
Bat Out of Hell ~ Meat Loaf
Sweet Child O' Mine ~ Guns N' Roses
Won't Get Fooled Again ~ The Who
While My Guitar Gently Weeps ~ The Beatles
Waterloo Sunset ~ The Kinks :)

I suppose several of those actually have more than one 'most famous' song, so it was more likely that some would be my favourites!

The Sex Pistols' "Anarchy In The U.K." as well as "God Save The Queen" are probably their most famous songs, and I wouldn't have any problem saying those are two of their best.

"Blitzkrieg Bop" is arguably the Ramones most famous song, and it goes back and forth with some other songs as my favorite.

"I'm Waiting For The Man" is the Velvet Underground's most covered song, so I'm assuming it's their most famous and it is definitely my favorite of their more rock oriented songs.

And to tell you the exact opposite of what you asked, I think it's a terrible injustice that "Rock The Casbah" is the Clash's most well known song. A lot of people have said to me "I'm not really impressed with the Clash, they're alright but not great." And I ask what they've heard of course, and the answer 98% of the time is "Rock the Casbah" and "Should I Stay Or Should I Go?". Damn the radio to hell.

Arcade Fire with Rebellion (Lies). Although you could also make a case for Keep the Car Running being their most famous song, and while that is a great song, it's nowhere near being their best. Also the Decemberists with O Valencia!, Gorillaz with Feel Good Inc., and Damien Rice with 9 Crimes are some huge ones.

I guess I missed your previous question, or I would have said The Mars Volta. I mean, The Widow freaking sucks.

Well, U2 has many songs that could be considered their most famous, and Where the Streets Have No Name is one of them, and that's definitely up there on my favorite songs by U2 list, but then again you have Vertigo which sucks.
