Magnificat is great - absolutely love it. Looking for another option.

I've done a little writing for other people, though I don't have anything on hand for your particular situation.
Can you tell me more about Mary? Is she going to be a classic depiction or modern up date? Do you want it to be totally serious or can it have some humor in it, and if so how much humor is too much? What I'm trying to find out is what tone do you want Mary to have.
I can think of one Christmas pageant where Mary asked the heavens "why me" in a monologue that mirrored Jesus's speech at the last supper. Both performance and dialog were very good.

Usually whenever a Catholic meets someone from a Protestant faith(more specifically, someone from either an Evangelical or Fundamentalist faith), and they talk about faith and Christianity, the Evangelical or Fundamentalist starts lecturing Catholics about honouring Mary, & accusing Catholics of worshipping her, & when we tell them that we do not, they argue with us & tell us that we do. In their arguments against honouring Mary, they usually begin off by telling us that she is a sinner, even though there is nowhere in the Bible that says that she committed any sin against God. That is making an accusation against her, even though we are supposed to be Blessing her(St. Luke chapter 1, verse 48). Finally, they tell us that we are wrong to address 'Mary as Mother Of God.' This claim doesn't come from those who do not believe in the Divinity Of Christ, such as the Jehovah's Witnesses or the Mormons. This is coming from Evangelical and Fundamentalist Protestants such as Pentecostals and Seventh Day Adventists etc. They argue that because Mary did not contribute to Christ's Divinity, she is therefore, not the Mother Of God. That is a truly absurd argument. If Protestants wish to pray straight to God(Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), then that is fine with us, so long as they respect our wish to ask for Mary's intercession, and the intercession of all the Saints with Him. For the record, we DO pray directly to God(Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)also. However, we want to have Mary and all the Saints on our praying team also. On a final note, what has the sex scandal of so-called "priests" abusing young boys have to do with your question???? There have been Protestant clergy who have committed sex crimes too, don't forget. In fact, there have been many atrocities committed by Protestant denominations too, don't forget(eg: racism in the Southern USA, including slavery, etc).

why not do a web search for non-royalty Christmas plays?, I remember when I was Joseph in the 5th grade Christmas play, I had to recite the 23rd Psalm.

Why not the Magnificat? It doesn't get any less cheesy.
