Just wanted to chime in here and give you a little INFO.
Any place you buy a computer and they don't furnish you with all the CD's of every piece of software on your computer are SHADY to put it nice. Software can be purchased in a couple of different ways. Most of us purchase software that comes with a single license for the software to use on our computer. Next comes the multi license versions for Corperate, and Educational purposes.
Some of the questionable companies that are sellong the cheaper computers have got in the habit of downloading the software and selling them. Then when a user has a problem there are screwed becaus they don't have the original cd's to fix the problem. Not to mention you can't hardly ever get them to furnish the software you should have had to begin with, because they have sold your software to someone else made more money and left you without any. I probably, have said enough, and it probably will behoove me not to mention these so called computer manufactures. But you can't seem to convince people to deal with top of the line computers and not CHEAP. Cheap is not always a deal.
I will quarntee you will never have this issue with DELL

Need more details do you want to restore application list to what it was when it first came from store? if so then you need that cd. you can contact the company for one for a nominal fee. If you want to reset the bios to factory settings most have an option for that once you get in them. But reading your problem makes it seem like your question is something else, Like you pressed some buttons that caused some bad effect and you want it to stop.

It depends. If you have a Dell computer, some of them have an icon that you can click on to restore to original factory settings (they did this in lieu of giving people the disks, which was unpopular - I believe they stopped this practice in the last year or two).
The only thing I can think of is to do a system restore to an earlier date. (click on Start, Programs, accessories, system tools, and system restore).

Boot your computer in safe mod.
Go to start menu / programs / accessories / system tools
and then click system restore. This will show a calender and restore points on previous dates.
Select a restore date when your computer was running well and press next button to start restore.
This procedure will work on windows xp.

I know you can restore your computer but I am at work and can't walk you through it. I might suggest you call Best Buy and ask to talk to one of the professionals there. I have done this in the past and they have been very helpful. Good luck!

With my old computer you could goto Start, Programs, and it would be listed with the programs. Or maybe during the reboot it gives you options of keys to press to restart it in recovery mode.
