I wouldn't go much under a 250, but if you really like the board you can always just duck out your feet (toes pointing outward). Another option would be to get what are called "risers," what these do is life your bindings up about a half inch or so, thus eliminating toe drag. If you're interested in the second option, almost all snowboarding shops carry them. I personally have never used risers, but I've heard they can also improve carving ability since you then quicken edge to edge response. If you decide you would rather just get a wider board, try to stay under a 255 because much higher could substantially lessen edge to edge response.

It says that the minimum board waist should be 251mm with an ideal width of 253mm for a size 12. I think this would be too narrow.
