What did you try while TTC, what worked and what didn't?
Hi;) I'm TTC but I have very irregular cycles and no apparent ovulation. I have an appointment at a doctor (fertility specialist) but it's not until january. So until then I'd like to try things "on my own". What would you suggest? What did you try? did it work or not? I've been trying for like 1 year 1/2 and I'm really tired of waiting for it to happen!!!!!! it would mean the world to me if anyone had answers :)
Thanks for answering and baby dust to all those still trying! XxX

The best thing is to not think about it...I know that's hard, I understand I'm right there with you. I too have irregular periods and no ovulation. I am currently on Clomid which is the mildest of fertility treatments. I have had success on this, but it was followed by a miscarriage. Now we're trying again. Go get the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. This will teach you everything you need to know about your body. Good Luck and if you ever need to talk feel free to sned me a message. Lots of baby dust your way!!

If you have irregular cycles and no apparent ovulation, there are no tricks. You'll just have to wait for that January appointment, so you can find out the problems and solve them.

I am guessing that's not what you want to hear, but the truth is really important.

Good luck at your appointment!

EDITED--
If you've had basic hormonal tests (E2, FSH, Thyroid, and your partner has had a sperm analysis) then you might need ovulation assistance with something like Clomid. You can do ovulation kits next month, but without ovulation, you are limited in what you can do. Maybe since you only have 6 weeks, you might just try to have fun instead of focusing on conception for one more month. I know that sounds ridiculous--but I was there, so I know from where I speak. Honestly, GOOD LUCK!

If you're not ovulating, then a doctor is the best way to get help. There are lots of things that can be done to bring on ovulation, but most of them require a prescription or at the very least being monitored by a health care professional. I know waiting is hard, I had to schedule my first appointment with my doctor months in advance because it's so hard to get in! The doctor will really be your best bet, though. Good luck!

Do you know why you are not ovulating? The reason I ask is because there are certain OTC meds that could help increase your CM and chances of ovulation but it helps if you know a reason that you are not ovulating.
Sometimes diet and exercise are the best ways to increase your chances of conceiving. There is also the all natural fertility teas and 'Vitex' which is considered natures clomid that will help regulate you if you have wacky cycles.

Good Luck and Baby Dust to you!

I'm very regular and got pregnant pronto. So my suggestions about how to get pregnant probably don't mean much to you.

I read an article in a newspaper a while back about some ladies who were practicing uterine massage. They said that if your uterus was not in proper position, it created all kinds of body sickness problems, esp fertility problems.

They had one patient, they massaged her uterus (from the outside, of course) and for days afterward she had discharge of icky black stuff. She tried the next month to get pregnant--bingo. Baby just couldn't live in a uterus with icky stuff in it.

Google uterus massage, and you should be able to find her.

As a last resort, don't forget acupuncture and chinese herbs. They both have been around for thousands of years longer than western medicine and are very effective.

Take care.
Take that multivitamin every day because baby will need folic acid to form a good nervous system.

I was TTC for 18 months. I am now 28 weeks pregnant.

I started taking prenatal vitamins, charted my BBT, changed my diet, I actually got pregnant the month before my appointment with the fertility specialist. Good luck and lots and lots of baby dust!

I have heard about a few adoptive parents who conceive almost as soon as they adopt a child. When the pressure is off, the baby comes on. I don't know how to make the pressure come off other than just having faith - that would be different for everyone but you know how to help yourself relax. Do everything you can to de-stress.

Yup, try the cervical mucous method and put a pillow under your hips for a 1/2 hour after sex.

Have you read about the cervical mucous method? Its very helpful in finding out what days you ovulate and can even tell you if you are not ovulating. I would read up on it and see how it goes for you.
