somebody semi-unreliable told me that he got in trouble with the police but rather than going to jail they gave him the option of doing work in undercover narcotics. How can I find out if this is true or not? If its undercover, and I ask the police they'll deny it. Who can I ask? It doesn't matter if this program exists or not, what if the police just cut a deal illegally to save their own a**es and they are using this guy like a puppet? He said he has to call a drug dealer, and then the police arrest them both, so that no one is suspicious of his involvement, but later that day the police just bring him back home. How can I ever know what is really going on?

This is so UNLIKELY that I will go so far and say he is LYING. I, obviously, cannot speak for every police agency in existence-which gives this fantasy some wiggle room. Just like there's a possibility Santa exists, your pal is working undercover.

It's more feasible that he is a Confidential Informant(CI), which is different than "working" for the Police. but, again, based on your details highly unlikely.

Regardless of which scenario he's in- telling a pal about it would be VERY dangerous, and no one would know that better than him.

Which why he's probably not being truthful.

If he really is an informant, there is no way you can ever find out. But the sheer fact that he told you tells me he is not an informant. Real informants play a very dangerous game. If they are found out, their life and thier friends lives would be in jeapordy. A REAL informant knows this and wouldn't even whisper this to anyone.....not even you. Sorry sir, it sounds to me that your buddy is just looking for attention. He's probably told a lot of other people also.

I would say, he is a paid informer not any type of undercover agent, that alone should be enuff for anyone to take the face af him or get him oot yer life as he could well be a target in your area putting whoever he is with in danger.

Sounds fishy. because if he is undercover he should not be telling anyone. That puts you at risk of possible involvement with a very bad group of people. I think you need to get away from this guy. If he is undercover you are in danger and if he is Not UNDERCOVER you are in danger..RUN RUN RUN.

You can't really know. Like the police are going to blow this guy's cover and tell some random guy "Yeah, he's an informant"?
