These are two completely different types of software. One is for the removal of viruses and the other is used to remove sypware/malware.

As for Norton, I would not allow it any where near one of my systems. It is junk and does not work near as well as some of the free antivirus software packages that are available today from the web. Here is a good list of some of the better "free" security software that is available for you to use on your personal home computer.

All of the following are free.

Norton Antivirus is a antiviral program spyware doctor is an antispyware program, they are entirely 2 different programs

IMO Norton is a huge system bloater and I would choose another antivirus program for my system

As far as spyware doctor goes I'd say it's a so-so program but would be fine if used in combination with other antispyware programs

I just rescued my Dell running Win XP Sp2 from major infections.

In the process I used Trend Micro, AVG, Norton, McAfee, ESET Nod32, and some other products.

Right now I'm running a Kaspersky 30 day trial package.

It has some nice features. I especially like the RESCUE DISK built on BartPE !!!

Before you pay money for another product, give Kaspersky a try.

Good luck,
