i changed my coolant temp. sensor and my service engine soon light is still on, i did notice that both of my fans run even when my car is cold( i did unhook the battery to clear out memory)..... can anyone help me on what to do next????

You first need to identify which code(s) are being stored. Did you replace the temp. sensor for the PCM or the temp. sensor for the dash guage? To fix things properly, the car has to be diagnosed properly. If the code is for a coolant sensor, the wiring and data have to be checked to be sure it is not a fault other than the sensor. A lot of the time in these cars it was a broken wire somewhere in the circuit which just would need repairs. The PCM cannot have it's codes cleared by unhooking the battery since around 1995 or 6. It has to be done by scanner. Also, when the PCM detects problems as it has here it might turn the fan(s) on as a precaution against motor damage. This doesn't mean it is a cooling sensor problem, but it would do this for an open or shorted coolant sensor circuit fault. You need to get a proper diagnosis done. See a good shop or a dealer.

stop by your local auto parts quick mart, have them run a code scan to see what is wrong and then try to fix the problem, by the way the scan should be free if they want to sell you the parts
