I am going to get what I really want for the Holidays - to spend time with a Special Someone that I am currently dating (no pressure, no gift-giving or exchanges -- just spending time with each other is all we need at this stage of our lives).
Do I deserve this peace and happiness?
OH, FOR SURE! I am the survivor of a short disaster of a marriage (to an abusive, violent sociopath), was a Long Term Single Parent (to two children with disabilities (including mental health disabilities/issues too), and now ... FINALLY (only in the last year!) I am an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree ...
And yes, I DESERVE to treat MYSELF at this stage of my life (I already used some of my pension to upgrade to a new plasma TV yesterday), and I definitely DESERVE to have a Kind, Gentle, Caring and LOVING (especially unconditionally) Man in my life ... which was a COMPLETE Surprise!

There must be so many spoiled people out there in yahoo land. I wasn't raised to have expectations for Xmas or birthdays....I always received gifts, but never said "I want this; I want that" I was never dissatisfied either...I guess that is where I learned my appreciation for the simple things in life, and to not be such a wasteful consumer...I wouldn't change a thing. No, I honestly don't have a clue what I'm getting, because I don't know what I want. All I want for the holidays are just for my friends and family to be safe and everyone is healthy.

Most people in American don't deserve 3/4 of what they have. Yet they get it anyway and continue to want more. What a horrible disease.
