I asked my (ex) wife to spend less time on the computer and more time with me and the kids to no avail. Finally it got to where I'd go to bed alone and she'd finally come to bed at 2-3 AM. When she put a secret password on the computer I figured something must be going on and I was right. Unfortunately, before she put on the password my son (then 13) found some of the explicit emails describing how great the sex was between her and her cowboy "friend". That really messed him up and he hardly spoke to her for nearly two years after that.
If your husband says you're spending too much time on the computer and not enough time with your family, then more than likely you are. Incidently, do you have any male "friends" that you chat with or email??? Especially ones he doesn't know about and you aren't going to tell him about? If so, you're headed for trouble and you better shut off the computer while you still have a husband and family. Consider yourself lucky that he's complaining. If he didn't give a rip about you or your marriage, he'd be glad to have you out of his hair and wouldn't say a thing.

This is a loaded question.....First, are you neglecting your husband, your kids, your home, some cleaning, or cooking, or other home duties? Are you having a relationship on the computer? has the PC become your main source for social interaction with other people? Are you spending too much money shopping on the computer? All these questions have to be taken into consideration. Once you do, I'm sure you will be able to answer your husband next time he complains about your being on the computer;)

You should read this, mark it as the best answer, power down the computer, and go spend time with him. Apologize to him, admit he is right, and do something with him. The time with him, besides sex, can be spent watching TV and movies and doing chores together, like painting a bedroom, washing the car, mowing and edging the yard, or washing and drying the dishes. If you spend more time with him, he can find more opportunities for romance. If you offer to do a chore with him, like the dishes, than the chore gets done and both of you get time together, which could be romantic kindling as you both realize how long it has been since you both did the dishes together. That could lead to sex. Then if he falls asleep, you can get back on the computer! He may imply that you need to spend more time cleaning, watching your children, or sleeping, because if he is getting enough sex, than those are the next things he will think of. So plan times of the day when he is busy and you can check email and add up the times spent with each to make sure you are sticking to good priorities, like spending more time with your family than with your computer.

I'm hearing some dissatisfaction in your marriage, it takes two to tango and two to keep a marriage together. If your marriage is important to you, how can you not give what he is saying serious consideration. You know each other better than anyone else in the world, surely you guys can turn off all the technology and TALK about this and work out a solution. My suggestion, for as long as it takes, turn off the computer, turn "on" your own brain and heart and deal with this. MY wife is a computer addict I assure you it is not a whole lot of fun.

I think you must pay him a bit of attention otherwise he thinks you are avoiding him. A computer is an addictive instrument. Try to divide your time to rather spending time on the pc when he isnt home and giving him quality time with you when he is.
I did the same and found we began to drift apart. When he started dressing up smartly to go to work on a building site I decided things were getting out of hand. Maybe that was a good warning signal. He was working nextdoor a factory with some rather attractive women there, hence all the more reason for me to pay more attention.
Im warning you if he thinks you feel nothing for him he is going to start looking around. Be wise. I stopped just in time!
Apologise and say,"You know you are right! - I do spend too much time on this silly pc! Please forgive me" then make him snacks, rub his feet and treat him like a king.

Talk to him about what he wants you to be doing instead, and discuss it with him. Try to agree on when it is or isn't appropriate to spend time on the computer and make sure you are getting enough time with him and that your other responsibilities are taken care of. If he still complains tell him this is the time you have set aside for yourself. I tell my husband that he watches tv, I go on the computer, it's just a different form of entertainment.

Well do you? If you do then I don't blame him......
I only go on the computer when my husband is busy doing something, working or if he says go ahead because I'm going to watch this show or whatever. Any other time I spend it with him and the kids. And he does the same, he'll come on here do his thing and that's it.
No one needs to spend lots of time on the computer. And as much as I love the internet sometimes I wish it didn't exist...for many reasons!!
