We have the same family tradition every year - my dad's family gets together on Christmas Eve and my mom's family gets together on Christmas Day.

It depends, usually both but on different days. It's hard to get everyone together all the time. Wish for years when we get to stay home with the immediate family. It is always different now from year to year. Lately I enjoy friends more than family.

My own parents are deceased (over a quarter century ago), I did spend the holidays as a Long Term Single Parent (with my children -- but now, this year ... I'll not be doing that since they are adults and on their own!), and ...

This year, I'll be spending the HOLIDAYS with ONLY my Special Someone -- who is coming to my HOME for the Holidays (we started dating this year ... so for us, it will be something we are looking forward to sharing ALONE together!).
