real trees or fake trees?????

I was reading this week that it is better for the environment to have a real tree as they can be composted afterwords ,where as a fake tree can sit in land fill for 500 years. But I have a fake tree so should I throw it away and get a real one or keep it till its knackered (and not looking very christmasy)?
I prefer real trees as they smell so nice and bring back childhood memories.

I love the smell of the real trees but for the last few years mine do not last long ,so I am getting a fake tree this year.

both....the fake ones....can work...if they look good...plus there are so many different kinds of fake ones....like the all white fake trees...that can be either indoor or outdoor trees....and fake trees already with lights strung on them....

and real trees...I like the smaller ones...around 20 inch ones...can put them on a table top and they only shed a little and still get the fresh tree smell...without it being too overbearing....or too much clean up...or worrying about what the dog might do to it....on the floor....

Fake tree becaues:

1. my mother is allergic to real ones
2. you don't have to water them.
3. you don't have to take them to the curb
4. they don't die
5. they are flame resistant (if you get the right ones)

i have a fake tree with the lights already on it...i like real trees...but i'd forget to water it...it would die before christmas....and all the needles would fall off.

Same old fake one for the last 30 years. Real is forbidden where I come from anyway and I stand by that.
