I ask myself that sometimes. If God is really there and if he loves us why are there many good, hardworking people who suffer from poverty and unspeakable abuse, innocent people getting killed everyday, children being raped and brutally murdered and all that. With those things it's hard to rationalize that things happen for a reason and that everything is according to his divine plan. But we have to keep the faith that He'll be there in the end to protect the good and totally eradicate the bad things from this world.

Or, maybe, why so few?
I don't know about your belief about God, but I never understood God to be making this world perfect. That's for the afterlife. This is a fallen world, where people have some degree of free will, and we make bad decisions, sometimes leading to war, etc.

why so many diseases crimes and wars? man, man and man again.
you can't blame God for what people do, they are free moral agents, the bible says the defect is their own they are not his children, forget exactly where I think psalms. God cannot be tried nor does he try anyone but each is tried by being enticed by his own desire and once the desire becomes fertile leads to sin and thus sin leads to death.
james forget where exactly. I am good at remembering alot of scriptures but not so good at remembering numbers.
of course there are alot of scriptures that explains why he allows it, how close to it all be ended and what we can do to be a part of that new world the bible speaks about so many times especially in peter. wickedness is allowed only temporarily it gives people a chance to show their true colors. thus he can make his judgements based on that as well as your overall heart condition. but his day will come as a thief it is already on the calender, we just don't knwo exactly but will come, the flood came, sodom was destroyed, the nation of israel suffered the foretold prophecies against them, so his word comes true, even if as humans we get impatient.

Yeah God is indeed good , and why there are so many deseases , crimes and war because this are all from human choices, why we have a lot of deseases because of human stubborness like you should not smoke its bad for our body but still there a lot of people smoking there's a lot of warning in the cigarret boxes but still they don't care all they want is to give what their body want, there are wars and rumours of wars because we still have pride, people want power, and fame instead of humbleness, patience, brotherhood and ourself becomes the center of our life instead of God, crime because of our greediness, jealousy, lust, and the love of money, yes we need money but dont let money to be the master of your life. The Bible say the "MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL" Those people believes that God do not care their are the one who dont also believe in their heartbeat, because i know in my heart and in my mind that God is the only one who makes our heart beating not our mother, father, sister, brother if our heartbeat stop they cannot do anything just to accept it.

Let me see if I have this right, i've read all the previous answers. God is good...There is evil in the world....God does stuff to teach us lessons....We're not suppose to understand, just believe....have I covered all the bases? What it all comes down to is....If God is such a great, compassionate being, why does he allow evil to murder, torture, rape and do all sorts of unspeakable things to innocent young children? Kinda sounds like he is a sadist.

Hindus have a complex religious system that spans monotheism, polytheism, monism, and pantheism. Claiming they have nothing more than a "philosophy" and that they "don't care" is both an oversimplification and an insult to the complexity and the beauty that is the Hindu religion.
To get back to your Q though, it comes down to what you believe is the nature of G-d. I personally believe that G-d has no choice but to make bad things happen from time to time to test humanity.
Also, we have free will. People are naturally selfish and therefore tend to make poor choices. G-d loves us, He just wants us to reach morality on our terms rather than using force.

Because humans were given free-will. It is up to the individual whether they choose to be loving and kind, or selfish and mean. It has absolutely nothing to do with what their religion is or isn't. Goodness can exist within us all. :-)

if there was no God , then we just blame "bad luck". But if there was a God , then we have to ask why earthquakes , tsumanis, floods , landslides keep happening times after times and killed millions of people.
