Its about playing a role, its not true, their is no books for it, its simply an individual who is going against what is considered "conforming" to society. hence the dark close, the lack of religious ideals, and the depressive expressionism. It's simply an attempt to show an anti-conformist attitude. Which is why the only ones worth a crap are those that show some compassion, they know deep down the truth is about hoping to attract like minded individuals, not distancing themselves from everyone else.
