I like to have fresh flowers in the house anyway, so sure, it saves me some money...lol...
I definately would say that I enjoy any gift more if it's from the heart rather than "the thing to do." By that I mean, flowers for Valentine's day is just a cop out. It's cheesie. Flowers just because...now that's always appreciated.

We all have personal preferences, that is part of what makes us each different. Their is nothing wrong with not liking being given flowers, some don't like candy others flowers, etc....

Yeah, it's something people forgot lately... but remains one of the most tender and nice things u could give to someone. ;-)
I heard people saying it's girlish..... I don't absolutely think so. You could give flowers to a friend, to your mother, to someone u care about who's feeling down.. be it your father, girl/boyfriend.. whoever! I think we should think more genuine and simple cause there are many other nice and simple ways to make a person feel better!... And yeah, flowers do die, but the beauty of it is to preserve them even after they're not that pretty and fresh! A rose pressed between the pages of a book, it reminds something to someone; a bunch of flowers kept in your room for days... months... just because they mean something to you! I think it's simple.
Cheers:D

That will be waste. Flowers r not for me. I can't see them dying on my table. When I can't look properly after myself properly, how can I do so for flowers. So I don't pluck them from the plants in my garden nor I others to do so. I don't like beautiful things to go waste. In my country, right place for flowers is any place of worship. It's not to be smelled and thrown.

I read the first part of the question and was about to say all women love flowers but you must be an acception to the rule. Mind you there are other pleasures like frankincense and murr.
I gave my ex wife some flowers and she hated them..... mind you they were triffids.

Yes, I do.
It's the sentiment behind the giving of flowers that enchants me.
Although the flowers wilt and die, the memory of someone taking the time out of their day to remember you, then to think enough to either have them delivered or to pick them out, doesn't go away.
It's always nice to be reminded that you are cared about in some fashion.

I do not like the idea of the tender flowers, being "snapped off & snatched," from the lap of the mother plants that, so lovingly, nourish their infants. How very inauspicious, are some of our human methods of greetings and worship!
