Effaced means your cervix is thinning out. Its not just a hole, its muscles that have to relax and thin before they can dilate completely, or open all the way.

You will probably have him in a weeks time, but its not unheard of for you to go on like this with no progress until 40 weeks or better.

Stay active, it'll help encourage what your body is already doing.

Make a cup of herbal tea put your feet up and enjoy your last momements of peace and quiet!! Its all going to go away very soon! If you lost your plug you will have the baby in the next 3-4 days give or take....when you cant talk or walk through the contractions, they are real!

That baby is coming, dont worry!!

Congrats and Good luck on a safe delivery

Well the efacement of your cervix is the amount that your cervix has softened you wouldn't want it to dialate up to 10 cm without softening up first. You shouldn't have much longer I was 4cm and 30% efacement for a week and then one morning here she came! Just hang in there it will be over soon! Good Luck!

sometimes what we fell are contractions is just our cervix being dehydrated. In order to tell the difference, drink as much water as you can possible stand to drink in one sitting. If you continue to contract, then it is true labor.
