Ok, we cleaned it out and scrubbed it with pinesoll and Odo-Ban. We threw everything out except the milk and new groceries that havent been opened. We moved the fridge and cleaned under it and there was nothing there. It was very clean, but we recleaned it anyways. We cleaned the freezer too and threw out the ice. We just cleaned the hell out of it! Now I reopened it today and it stinks just the same as before.
I even put two boxes of baking soda in the fridge and two in the freezer a few days ago and it did nothing.
Also, and maybe this is all psychological, but whenever we eat soemthing that has been open in there, like drink we get really bad stomach aches. The fridge is only three years old I believe. It's a Fridgidare. Any suggestions? Could it be a bacteria? please help! I also checked for dead mice and there was none.
Thanks everyone for your kind answers!!!!

I would empty the fridge out again.... Mix a mild bleach solution in a spray bottle.. Like a qt of water with acouple tablespoons of bleach added... Give the fridge a good spray, let it sit for acouple minutes and then wipe clean.... Replace baking soda boxes and seal ALL foods in plastic sealing containers..Like rubbermaid or tupperware... Give the BS a few days to work...
Good luck

Turn it off. Remove all the groceries. Wipe the inside down with hot water and bleach making sure you even give the seal a good wash down the same way. Open the doors and keep them open for a few days. After doing that wash down the interior of the fridge with hot water and then dry off as much as possible with a clean cloth. Turn on fridge again and see if the smell is still present. What might have happened is the smell could have leached into the interior walls of the fridge. If bleach and airing doesn't do the job then I don't know what will. You may have to get rid of the fridge.

check the temp of the fridge it should be less than 40 degrees, 38 to be ideal. the drain pan needs cleaning, the coils in back might have a dead friend on it. The filter for the ice needs changing? run a little bleach on the ice using crushed setting.

Hey gf :) Sounds like it is the spill tray underneath to me too... Check there and the drains under the crisper drawers. Hopefully that helps...
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving :) Saw the baby the other day - Tiny little peanut... lol I am due July 14th.

Did you clean the tray under the fridge, behind the grating at the bottom? It catches water, which can build up mold, if not cleaned and sanitized regularly.

Did you pull it away from the wall and check the back? Could be something in the coils? I always use bleach.
