No. I still say Xmas's is for the small kids. Grown-ups are greedy and shallow. Eat and sleep on my day off is what I am looking for. Only a visit from my daughter and couple of phone calls. That's about it. I am extremely happy person. Just in case you are wondering.

just another day to us Jews.... most have a tradition of going to a Chinese buffet (cuz they're actually open on Dec. 25!) and then going to a movie (cuz the theaters are also open on Dec. 25!) I AM looking forward to Chanukah, though. This is the first year in a long time that all 3 daughters and all 3 grandkids live right here so we'll all be together for lighting the menorahs every night and eating LOTS of latkes!

I love Christmas, so of course I'm looking forward to it.
I love driving around with my family looking at Christmas lights, and watching the Christmas eve show on television with my Nana lol. It really gets me into the Christmas spirit and i get so excited about all the presents & food the next day. I love christmas because of the family, food & presents.. and of course the decorations!

Yep. (Which is kind of strange because I'm not really all that religious. ^_^)

I get to see all my family from overseas who come home for the holidays.

I like buying presents for other people more than I like getting them myself. Especially my little cousins! (maybe it's because I get to and look through all the toy shops and re-live my childhood! ^_^)

Then there's the silly little traditions. Me and my little brother always go and buy ice cream right before the shops close on Christmas Eve. I've forgotten why we do it now, but I'm sure there was a reason behind it originally!

I haven't even mentioned not having to go to school!

You know what? I think I'm looking forward to it even more now! Star for you!

I totally hear ya =( Christmas is really only fun when you're a kid. When you're older its kinda.. meh. Especially with extended family around. (Yes I get bored of them talking about school/work when they can be doing something fun) You can always suggest playing a game, or even just bring out the karaoke machine and hope that people will get the idea.

Yes and no. I look forward to being with my big, fat, crazy, weird and did I say BIG italian family. But I don't look forward to it because December 9th my grandfather passed away last year. So we already went through one Christmas without him and it was hard. My mom was in the living room crying all night and she wouldn't let anyone talk to her.

yes and no.

this year, we have decided to stay at home because my partner rarely gets time off work.

but we keep getting hassled by one of his sisters to go to there place for xmas (which is a 4 - 5 hour drive away from us) so that would be say 4.5 hours to get there, around $200 in petrol, in the heat and traffic (I live in Australia) just to visit them for one day. then another 4.5 hours to get home (providing traffic is good) more petrol, and to be honest I can't be bothered. I would rather stay at home and relax.

then theres buying gifts for everyone, when we could use the money to buy ourself something nice.

Ugh!

Americans are lucky, Christmas in winter would be lovely, with the snow etc.

but over hear, its the hottest time of the year!
