I usually use a pen but have written one or two in crayon when i could not find a pen. Never use a pencil because the content can be changed by the reader, to suit the reader causing confusion to the writer. I have anemia and tend to write too much so the blood thing is totally out for me. But I would seal it with a kiss..

Don't...once it's on paper, be it pen, pencil, crayon,, you will never be in a position ten years down the track to take it back
By all means write it down, read it back and then keep it for a month.....maybe after that you'll think twice before sending
Putting pen to paper in the heat of the moment seems not to do too much in the area of personal relationships - unless you happen to be an inventor of note,...

I call them and ask "You want it written or over a cup of coffee?"
So, I never write love letters.
And the coffee, is not always coffee.....
