From what I've seen in the last 4 or 5 years, neither side is willing to listen to the other. Congress is useless when it is name calling and not voting on real spending bills that help the American people. Talk show host try to outshout their callers and cut them off if they disagree in any way. So sad that we have become divided since the war in Iraq began, and 911. We should be united, especially in these times of world kaos!

The problem is that those on the extreme left don't care about truth, lies, disrespect for our nation's laws, the real corruption that dominated this country -during the Clinton- years, etc, etc.

i think they just all want to know how much money can be saved if they do happen to listen.

if preventative medicine were free to all, it would save the labor force and the average Joe billions.

if there were free and easy access to sex ed and birth control, it would save our country billions and improve the lives of all who live here.

if corruption were kept in check and all public officials were subtracted their hefty fat cat pentions, it would increase the overall daily output, saving billions more.

OK, try this, after 6 years of a total Republican majority in Congress and the white house here is what happened:

1.) Federal budget deficits at record levels. Congress and the President spend money like a drunken sailor on holiday and cut taxes, smart.

2.) Right war in the wrong place. The white house stumbled over itself to crush Iraq. Smart. An enemy of Iran with no wmd and ties to al qaeda.

3.) Did not attempts to pass a single social piece of legislation that would further their "conservative" cause. Abortion, social security, etc.

Republicans are ineffective economically, ineffective at furthering their often stated (when running for office) social issues, and disastrous when considering foreign policy.

Tell me why with this record why anyone would vote these wind bags into office!
