OK. This is a little embarrassing but, my husband and I had intercourse the other night and when I went to the restroom some of the "stuff" rubbed off of me and onto the toilet seat. Being that we were at his parents house for the holidays and there were other women in the house, I immediately got paranoid (since I am 33 weeks pregnant and I worry about the silliest things all the time) that one of them would use the bathroom and get pregnant (probably a one in a million chance of that happening though). So I wiped it up, then wiped the toilet seat with water, dried it, wiped it with water again, dried it, then wiped it with hot soapy water and dried it. Still not satisfied, I sprayed some Lysol with bleach on it, wiped that up, and wiped it with water and dried it again. I felt satisfied at that point.

I guess my question is, did I successful remove/kill any sperm on the seat?

Please do not reply with ridiculous answers. Factual/medical ones only please. Thanks! :)

Sperm can only stay alive outside the body as long as it is wet. When it dries or is wiped up with a tissue or washcloth, it is no longer viable. Simply wiping up the leakage on the toilet seat with a piece of toilet paper or a tissue would have done the job. I've been pregnant 4 times so I know how muddled the brain can get sometimes. Those hormones can make you a little crazy. Everything is OK.

sperm does not live very long outside of a human body, it can live for up to 72 hrs inside a woman but outside the body on a toilet seat it should die very quickly, especially with the lysol and bleach. i would say that you effectively killed all of the sperm.

Hun you can't get pregnant from sitting on the toilet seat even if the sperm was still on there it would die in that kind of environment so please relax
I'm sure you cleaned it enough
