My house is being constructed now. Roof is done. When I went into attic, I observed that ceiling has tons of nails (30-40%) piercing thru the roof. I did not observe the same at my friends place constructed by another builder.

It is not safe for sure, but is this the common building method? Is it okay? Any chances of leaking in the future etc?

thanks!

The nails go through a tar liner, you can see this between th tab and the top of the shingle. there is 3-6 nails in every shingle. Every roof will leak, but yours might take 20 years.

This is how roofs are installed. Your friends attic could possibly been insulated and you wouldn't see the nails or had some other type roof besides shingles. Do not worry or be concerned It is fine and should not get any leaks

that is from the guys installing the shingles .if you go on the roof you wont see the nails because the shingles over lap each other and the nails will be covered by the shingle above it.it should not leak.

That is normal roofing practice, your friends house may have used shorter roofing nails or else you just didn't notice.

This is typical. Your friends roofers may have used shorter nails. It is not a problem.

Just watch your head when you are up there. You can cut some foam boards and glue them to the underroof were you may walk.

That is normal. They hold the shingles on. It hurts to bump your head up there.
