All 32 teams steal signals. Its part of the game from high school on up. The only reason the Patriots got caught was because a bitter former coach of theirs was on the other sideline. Since then they are facing teams who do it, while they cant. That only makes what they've done more impressive.

They were caught with the video in the 1st quarter of the 1st game before anyone had time to even watch the tape. Therefore the tape was totally useless and now the league is watching them even more closely. The season is not tainted and the whole mess gave the pats even more a reason to make everyone else look like a pee wee team

No, I don't think it should be tainted. The info they got was never used. Nor, has the NFL found any evidence that they cheated in any of the playoff games or the Super Bowls.
Mangini broke the coaches code by doing what he did. He used to be in the Patriots organization, he stole their playbooks when he left. And he didn't leave on good terms.
This was his way of getting even. It backfired on him. As far as the cheating goes, they all do it. No excuse you say, try this for an example. If you are on the freeway doing over the speed limit, along with everyone else, there will always be the one guy who gets pulled over, even though everyone goes over that speed limit. Other great coaches in the NFL have admitted to doing what Bellichick did and worse. Jimmy Johnson, Bill Parcells and others. Of course none of the current coaches will admit it. But it is common. Because of cheating, some of the rules changed. Example, if the mikes of one team go out during the game, the other team has to shut theirs down too. This rule came up, when the Niners were caught doing it several years ago.
There is no way the Pats are cheating now, because they are being watched more closely than any other team. Go Pats.

The thing about the cheating scandal is that, while everyone points to their illegal taping, no one ever stops to consider whether they may still be cheating in some so far undiscovered way.
The only reason I bring up the subject is that the numbers they are generating are so far above league averages (and so far above what any of the players involved have ever produced) that it all feels a little like the home run record chases of the last 10 years which were later discovered to have been tainted.
I know I'll get -1'ed to death by Patriot fans but before you think I am completely insane ask yourselves if you would have believed Rodney Harrison to have been a HGH abuser as was also discovered this year.
BS! I can always count on you to strengthen my argument by attacking it! :) Enron Accounting? As early as '98 there were rumblings that the numbers Enron was generating looked just too good. And what was the response given to those who questioned Enron? "You are just jealous that they are better than you." Now, who does that sound like?

No, it shouldn't...because the NFL confiscated the tape during the very game, BEFORE it got to the Patriots locker room...so it really had no bearing on the game or anything else this season...Also, the NFL is watching the Pats LIKE A HAWK, and has been all season...Patriot haters just want to blow it up into tainted wins, tainted Super Bowls...etc...and they obviously don't know that Belichick and Mangini of the Jets hate each other...I'd like to know what they think of the Pats blowing EVERYBODY out, except the Colts, this season...

Before this season, the league issued a warning that taping outside of the approved areas would not be tolerated. The Pats continued to do so, the league came down hard on them to send a message.
Fans took this as being an isolated case and ran with it dispite the fact it has had no effect on the season.
The fact the league issued the warning shows that this is done by many, if not most. There is no taint to being the ones the league used to send a message.

no because A) the tape was seized in the 1st quarter, like less than 10 minutes of film, and B) they wouldve beat the Jets anyways, they couldve been blindfolded and covered in buffalo sh*t and still beat the Jets by a 20+ point margin

I don't think its tainted b/c the camera got confiscated and they couldn't use any of the tape.and for the rest of the season they have more NFL officials following them around then all other teams combined.

ya all teams spy on other teams, but they don't all record it like the Patriots did. I do think this season would be tainted for them if they were just an okay team, but with how they have been putting beat downs on everyone I don't think it will be. You need to do a lot more then spy on the other team to put up the points they are putting up.
So, I think the Patriots are really this good, but there will always be that question of how exactly did they get that good? The WR they brought in are good, but are they really that good; to make the team that much better in one off-season?

No, the season isn't tainted because the Patriots have won ever since after the taping scandal, therefore saying that they don't need videotape. The Patriots ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THE NFL RIGHT NOW.
GO GIANTS!
