yes there is living bacteria on raw meat . the issue with that is if the strains of bacteria are harmful to humans. the meat you buy in a butcher shop or other store has been checked by a food inspector. now its true they cant check anywhere near all the food meat we eat but they check a good deal of food. unless you see something odd or smell something odd or hear of a recall or warning regarding a particular meat then i would not worry about it.

Bacteria is everywhere. So there is bacteria on your meat. However, the vast majority of bacteria are harmless, and some meats have more dangerous bacteria than others.

Chicken meat has roughly a 50% chance of being infected with salmonella. On the other hand, beef almost always does not have unsafe bacteria, which is why many people eat it rare.

There is bacteria EVERYWHERE, so there is certainly bacteria on raw meat. Some is benign (harmless), some is not. Some comes from handling during the processing. In other cases, it can be bacteria that comes from the intestines of the animals (or other animals where it was slaughtered). Intestinal bacteria are GOOD for the break down of food in the intestines, but when it gets into the upper gut by eating it...it can be dangerous.

Yes, there are bacteria on almost everything you will meet in life.

There are actually more bacteria on you than you have cells in your body and it has been estiumated that if it was possible to collect every bacteria in the world (including those inside the earth, they would cover the whole world in a layer more than 5 feet deep.
