The best, legal way to watch Saving Private Ryan is to borrow it from a friend. Alternatively, you can get movies for free or cheap at the local library. Or you can spend $1 at the rental place. Get smart and put your recources back into your municipal services and local business.

A pretty fair number of people die, and some in ways that are a bit heartless, but that is war. There isn't a lot of blood used to show the deaths, being gory isn't really the goal, it's more to show how anyone involved in an operations like D-day can meet their end at any time, and those that survive can carry emotional issues for years.

Check the local public library. If you don't find the dvd, place a hold on it and library will let you know once it is ready for pick up (normally in a few days). And of course it is free.
