Sky News said, "The election was fought mainly on domestic issues, with Labor exploiting widespread anger at workplace laws and rising interest rates." What are these "workplace laws" that caused widespread anger? Do you agree with Sky? I am from the US and I am curious.

work choices and AWA 's.....the loss of entitlements for workers such as time and a half overtime, or any monetary payments for overtime in some cases, unfair dismissal laws for work places under 100 employees, fair wage agreements that basically encourages employers to reduce hourly rates to anything they like so long as they pay the minimum wage.
Many work places had permanent staff dismissed and then re-en stated on a casual basis with loss of sick pay and annual leave. Union restriction on entering into workplaces to a few times a year.

John Howard chose to ignore the rally 's that were held all over Australia protesting against his new laws, in some cases more than 100,000 people attended them, but he decided that he knew best. Personally my husband lost about 10,000 dollars a year though work choices, so I do know that they have not been fair to all, like Howard said they would be, he had said we would be better off, so yes I agree with Sky news, and I m glad to see the back of the liberal party.
