his one leg turns out completely to the side....since he is having trouble learning to walk due to this leg issue I asked the doc what to do. He sais...WAIT till he is completerly walking on his own then go to a bone specilist. Well I went to a chiropractor for a second opinion and he sais it is nerve damage POSSIBLEY ands deffinatly a tightened muscle in the back of the thigh that turns the leg out....so he has us coming in twice a week to help losen it out. My husband sais we should go to a nerve specialist too to see what they say....rule it out if anything......Well all this is behind the DOC's back cuz he sais wait...I think if we wait then he is going to learn to walk with the problem and then have to relearn to walk when we figure out how to help him OR make the problem worse...WHAT DO YOU THINK?????? I need some parent opinons! another point of view! New ideas!!....He is 11 1/2 months old....he did everything early (he has 3 siblings) he sat at 3 months .........etc.

I would see a pediatric orthopedic doctor. Some of them do not require a referral from another doctor, depending on where you live. I don't think you should feel like you are "going behind the other doctor's back." Yes, it may feel awkward but it is patient choice to have more than one opinion. Good luck to you and your son.

I would go for an 2nd opinion at a orthopedic specialist. Looking at your sons age i would not be overly concerned that he is not walking yet, I have 2 children and they were both late walkers. (18 months).

I would see a pediatric orthopedic specialist. Unfortunately, I think you need a referral from the child pediatrician. I would also get a different pediatrician. I wouldn't accept the "wait and see" approach for this.

"Chiropractic" is NOT medicine! Go yourself to three different chiropractors and tell them you have the same set of symptoms (just make something up), you will likely get three completely different diagnoses! Chiropractors make people feel better by rubbing their backs. Take the advise of the doctor...if you don't like it, get a second opinion from a second real doctor, but be prepared for him/her to tell you the same thing!

And don't panic about it, your son will be fine!

take him to a surgeon ,an orthopedic surgeon and dont wait . waiting could cause the problem to become worse . that dr does not have to wait and he is not the one walking on that leg . good luck and god bless.
