I had the exact same at 27 weeks and i had a condition called Placenta Praevia.

Its where my placenta was lying low, quite close to the cervix!
I got kept in for 5 days and didnt bleed so they let me out.
My baby was fine, and the bleeding was caused by the placenta shedding bnlood if i did too much so i was told to take it easy!
U can ask about it but it might not be this.

My daughter was then delivered by caeserean 7 weeks early

Not bcos of the Placenta Praevia but i also developed Pre-Eclampsia.

If i didnt develop Pre-Eclampsia then my pregnancy would have resumed as normal!!

Hope you find out soon as i know how much worrying it can cause!! x

It was probably your mucus plug with bloody show. Did you have sex recently? It can irritate the cervix and cause some bleeding.

Was it full on bleeding or just bright red spotting? If it was full on period like bleeding I have NO idea what it would be. BUt some blood and mucus is either your plug, or just your irritated cervix and natural mucus production that is increased with pregnancy.

It could have been an early show, where part of the musuc plug has come away.

I had a similar experience when i was pg with my daughter, i went into hospital overnight, had all the tests and was monitored but they let me out the following day with little explanation of what had happened, it would seem its a natural thing to happen and nothing to worry about otherwise they would have said something to you.

I hate when you go all the way to L&D and they don't even give you specific information that you need and want! Ugh, agrivating! But anyway, you could have started to expel your mucus plug but it is rather early. Do you have an appt scheduled with your dr? Did they check to see if you are dialated or effaced? You should probably take it easy until you see the dr and ask him/her. You wouldn't want your little bean to come this early. Good luck sweetie!

Presumably excess blood / placenta not attached. If they okay'd you, that's very good news. Do NOT exert yourself and follow their recommendations to the letter. Time with your feet elevated is time well spent. I'm glad you're okay... must have been scary. Sometimes the body produces more lining / blood vessels than are critical... and thusly, are shed when its not utilized.

Best of health to you and baby!!
