The shortest player in the NBA today is Earl Boykins at 5 feet 5 inches . As far as the shortest NBA player ever, it would be Muggsy Bogues at 5 feet 3 inches.

The previous answers to this question are correct, but they are leaving out the best of the short guys. Spud Webb is 5'6". He had a long career in the NBA, AND he won the slam dunk competition in the early 80's.

They used to be called shorts. Now days people (in the USA) call them short shorts to make the difference with the Bermudas or long baggy shorts. Guys still wear them in Europe with no problem. In the US many people do not like them (so they say). Maybe it is just puritanism. Personally I think is so hypocrite that women can basically wear anything they want, show they whole body, but they criticize when men wear short shorts. If you want to wear short shorts and have the body to pull it off, feel free to do it. If people do not like it, too bad for them. You only live once. As long as you feel comfortable in them. Be aware that once in a while some people may be laughing at you. Just ignore. Although they probably won't admit it, many girls will be checking your legs out.
