at this site they say that sex, wine, pleasure nothing is a hurdle provided you are awakened to your self. the real hurdle is your sleep towards you. the problem is your divided self. you need an awakening and not a prohibition of sex, liquor or enjoyment. what do you say?

well the truth is that one cannot be spiritual if one is engaging in all the abovesaid vices as it covers your energies and one cannot connect to the supreme. If your spirit is weighed down with all the unneccesary stuff how r u going to experience spirituality. all these vices will just contribute to your forgetfulness towards the supreme and pull u down towards the material world. u cannot awaken your innerself by intoxicating your mind. its like u r suffering from some disease and the doctor prescribes some poison instead of medicine just because u prefer the taste of poison to the taste of medicine. wake up honey!!!!! u cannot change the laws of nature - what is good is good and what is bad is bad - there are no grey areas. ditch that site for good.

Lightinlife is correct.

It their claim sounds unbelievable, here is a source that explains that same thing in the Christian context...

since the ORIGINAL Gospel Jesus preached is about the light of God and an awakening (not blood for sin we hear these days)

It's the book right at the top of the page.

i would agree, as you develop your spirituality, you realize that those things can have a place in your life, that they are simply things, to be enjoyed or not, when you are "in tune" with yourself, you will use things in a positive way,
being spiritual is not about denying oneself pleasures, or automatically labeling something as bad, its more about realizing its all in how you use things, indulge, that practically anything can be used in a positive or negative way
