Just kidding.....LOL
I will be racing in the WORCS in 2008. As many of you know this is a desert racing series here in the USA. I will be riding a 2008 Yamaha YZ450F. What set ups do you recommend for high speed deset racing?

I didnt mention that I have never raced desert before, just motocross. I am wondering what things I may need that are different. I already have my suspention done, but anything else like a bigger tank, gearing, ....etc....

Hey Big B,

My new standard answer is:- "It will go the same speed as any other bike of any cc - If you threw it off a high building! [all objects (regardless of their mass) free fall with the same acceleration - 10 m/s/s. This particular acceleration value is so important in physics that it has its own peculiar name - the acceleration of gravity]"

Good luck with the series, being highly technically minded I would say you should go with; a drink (cold/large) sunscreen (factor overcoat - not factor cardigan) and for health and safety reasons, please ensure your sandwiches are well wrapped to avoid possible choke risks and to (obviously) avoid eating the sand. Also, give some thought to underwear - a bad PUMA could really ruin your week!

If you meant the bike.............. pass!

I believe the fasted a YZ can go is 110 mph flat out, but on a motocross track, where it is most comfortable at, the top speed can be 70 mph. As for set up, sand tires for one, and a change in your gear ratio.

Why have you changed your name to Big B?

You were called " Swillitoes" or something like that this morning!

Daft quest to start with really dude.

If you really did race a bike this, you would not need to ask advice that on this site.
