There was no argument , no disruption or violence.....the people voted & that's final ! Would you like that type of democracy in Lebanon where religion plays no part in deciding the way the country is governed .....?

Kate, the sad fact is that Lebanon is the cradle of civilisation & it is your politicians & the other powerbrokers who are acting in an uncivilised manner not the people of Lebanon.
Shame on them !

Yeah ......your country is like mine, here one votes and go back home calmy, wait the results, and then if one lost........wait another 5 years to have the chance to revert the things. Always happens that way...the leaving president, gives the power to the winner, without drama. (here everyone has the opportunity to be corrupt he he)
But what I personally think, is that there is another kind of civic culture that Lebanon hasnt. It's becoz in Lebanon still didnt separate state from religion.
If Lebanon would be a secular country, many problems would have been obviated....but pple has to help too, stopping thinking that ones are better than the other ones bcoz belongs to this or that religion.

Hey there dear Aussie, if I'm allowed to intrude here, good for you and all of us who have supposed "democracy". I know you don't mean to but you are been rude to our Leb friends! What do you expect them to do? Riot and claim it a democracy too???
It is very well said that they are the cradle of civilization so they forgot people's rights in the long, long run? I guess we can only pray for the outcome there.
Personally, I am so fed up with the stinking democratic politics of my country I'm almost ready to go somewhere else try a new type of government which might resemble more of a democracy.

first , I love Australia .
we would like to see that kind of democracy in all the Arabian countries , but we have a very bad big brothers and we wish to get rid of them , if they are gone you will see the real civilized manners of the Lebanese and the rest of Arabs that one day taught the whole world how to think .
