My bird died and I was digging a grave for it and as I was digging, at about 20 cm in the ground I noticed two round balls, they look like tapeworms curled into a round ball. As I examined it a little closer I noticed that a little bit was moving. There are two and right now they're placed in an air tight plastic container. I would like to know what it could possibly be. And if it is dangerous in any way how should I get rid of it?
Thank you!

And, I don't really see a head or a tail and it's curled into a ball, and very flat and looks like dried hay curled into a ball, the weird thing is that it moves otherwise I wouldn't be asking, oh, and it's only 2-3 mm in breadth.

Thanks again!

And for the last time the radius of the ball it is curled into is about 2 cm and it is curled into a ball the way wool is so don't give me ideas of grubs and stuff like that because it is flat and only 2 mm in breadth and very very very long in length, probably 4 meters.

And I do have 5 tortoises. I don't think they are tortoise eggs though..

I estimated, the height can't be more than 0.5 mm.

Pour a kerosene on it and light it on.

But check it very well maybe it's just a pupa of a bettle and in a later time it will turn to a full blown bettle.

Adult tapeworms live in intestinal tracts of some animals and several different species of tapeworms can infect humans.

Tapeworms live in feces of livestock but in a form of segment but not as large as what you've said.

Make it sure! Earthworm is good for the ground and there species people love eating it and a kind were used to mix in a canned food.

It's a Larva - a worm like, a weird in a first phase but beautiful in a final stage.

AND I DOUBT IT THAT IT'S A WORM, NOT SURE ANYWAY...

wait a minute... am I supposed to answer? Well, I think the second one is a tortoise egg and the first must be some type of horse dung or something. No idea.....

I suggest dig a hole and put it back in. Nothing happened for this long so put it back in its natural habitat.
Best!

I'm a little confused by your descriptions. Is it a spearical ball or is it more disk shaped. I don't see how it is round and flat at the same time. Anyhow, It's probably just a larval cocoon of some sort, but without a pic it's really hard to say what it is. Here is a pic of a caterpillar cocoon that looks like what you are describing. At least, I think it's what you are describing.

If it was dark grey I'm gonna guess a pill bug.If it was kinda yellow I think it was a grub. Both harmless.

how do you know they are 4 metres long, did you unroll them? A pic would have been interesting, other than that I have no clue but I am now curious.

You shouldnt really keep anything you find from under the ground in your house. As you said it might be dangerous so leave it outside in its habitat... If its living or not just get rid of it because it might make you ill.... There might be insects in their as well and they might become a pest in your house...

Some bizarre form of earthworm, no doubt.

I doubt it will cause you any harm.... whatever it is.
But if it's is in an airtight container you'll never find out because you're killing it.
