I don't know we must be mad! I spent 20 mins last week in a line for a luke warm hot dog in IKEA and still came away empty handed, got bored after waiting so long for so called fast food and still 4 people in front of me. We Brits seem to love queues!

Well, actually there are 2 main factors in a successful theme park. 1st) Making people believe the hype. If you put a cool, new roller coaster in a park, people are going to like it! And if you market it good, people will defiantely come to ride it as long as your park is clean, and staff is good. Also, number 2 is that you have to entertain people while in line. Disney World and Land have movies, music, food, and characters that make your line seem to pass by 10 times quicker. Walt Disney knew how to do those 2 things.

Walt Disney died before Disney World opened. And, when DW opened, there were not many lines. Now, it is awful!!! We used to have tickets for each ride, and DW was cheap to get in to. I think it was about 10-12 dollars, and you used tickets A, B, C, D & E. Don't blame Walt Disney. It was all the money hungry grubbers after him, starting with Michael Eisner.

Ya don't have to stand in lines very much if ya go during the month of September.

And if ya think the lines are rough at Disney World, try Cedar Point in Ohio. Two and a half hours for a 45 second ride? No Thanks!

In Chicago during the late 1940s, Walt Disney drew sketches of his ideas for an amusement park where he envisioned his employees spending time with their children. He got his idea for a children's theme park after visiting Children's Fairyland in Oakland, California. The original ideas developed into a concept for a larger enterprise that was to become Disneyland. Disney spent five years of his life developing Disneyland and created a new subsidiary of his company, called WED Enterprises, to carry out the planning and production of the park. A small group of Disney studio employees joined the Disneyland development project as engineers and planners, and were dubbed Imagineers.

So basically he figured it out by 1) being rich 2) hiring people to think about this all day and night and 3) having patience.

once Disney became a household name, that was it. you can charge an absure amount for admission. create substandard attractions (as long as they are themed to a popular disney character). charge triple for consumables (food, drinks, etc). close your park early. say that an attraction will never be back again and charge even more! while bringing the same attraction/ dvd/ event back in three years. all while paying a horrible wages in horrible work conditions plus having a weak union that doesnt stand up for the rights of the workers. all under the guise that its a "magical experience".i personally will not go to disney because of my own personal "cost to fun" ratio. its just not worth it to me. plus people who are "Disney-ites" (people who are so in love with the disney brand) are such blind loyalist. my sister is one. she got a job at the Disney store and hates it, but she wont leave because she loves the Disney brand so much. okay gotta go see Enchanted now.
