I do not believe in castration - i think it enhances the "power over" urge and can make matters worse and encourage more violent attacks.

Your thoughts?

The reality is the inability to use that "tool" does not remove their urges. They are equally able to sodomize their victims using any inanimate object.
But just for revenge, I say use a dull knife... or better yet, a spoon.

Absolutely not. The testicles produce a hormone that creates sexual urge. The problem is that rapist don't function on this hormone. They function on outside stimuli. Their addiction is to control and not testosterone. Their is almost no link to rape and testosterone unless the testosterone levels are 10 times natural levels. In that case they are probably slamming steroids which once again is not an issue of castrasion. That would be an issue of reasonable laws and reasonable law enforcement- neither of which are available in the USA.

The only thing I can really agree with you on is that rape(and other sexual offenses) should be addressed with passion. But I still think psychology and sociology are critical to resolution. Otherwise all you get is revenge and that really doesn't bring closure to the primary or secondary victims- EVER.

A recently saw a documentary about this, and castration apparently does not mean all sexual tendencies are gone, so no I don't believe in it. Sexual predators should all be put together in one big prison cell with food dropped in from a helicopter or something like that, and then prey on one another.

I firmly believe that sexual predators are the only criminal element we can't help. They shouldn't be castrated; they should be locked up for life without the possibility of parole and left in the general prison population to let the other inmates do whatever they think is appropriate,

I do not believe in castration. However, I do believe that such sexual criminals should simply be incarcerated for life. History is full of instances where someone has been paroled and then committed sex crimes again.

Well yes...I heard that they still get the urge anyway..but I say cut it off anyhow and then keep them drugged up so they cannot do any more harm...or just stick them all on a remote island or prison ship togethr where they can be evil to each other and not to innocent people.

i think it's not a bad idea though.
i really have no idea how would a very sexual man react towards castration, but somehow i feel that it would make them withdraw from the society?
or perhaps it would make them go crazy and attack more often.....

I tend to agree with you although it is a deserved punishment - and along with it should be life imprisonment, no parole, and solitary confinement with absolutely no leaving one's cell, no exceptions. Living in a hell-hole should set an example ... considering the living hell their victims have been put through.
