Hey ya Sistablu ya amar,

Ba7ebek Wa7steeny by el Gasmey (i love you and i miss you), though actually most of the time, i feel Gasmey is singing it for me lol, bass yalla mashy i ll share it with my beloved country.

There is this part where the words say, why should i apologize for me not being there, you have never left me and always near to me, no body else has yr kindness and tenderness". That part just gets me, coz no matter how many problems we have back home, it is the only pace that we really feel we belong, and it is there that we actually feel we are loved and we belong.

I am getting all teary eyed here, i ll be back soon isa. Can't wait :-)

Om Kalthum sings a poem of the great poet Hafez Ibrahim that says :

waqafa al khalqo gamee3an yanzoroona kayfa abni qawa3ida al magdi wahdi.
wa bonati al ahram fi salifi el dahri kafawni al kalama 3inda al tahadi.

he was talking about Egypt.

It means : All human beings stood looking how I alone built the basis of glory.
and the pyramid builders in remote times did not make me obliged to speak in case of defiance.

This is the song that best describes my feelings about Egypt.

i love the words, music , and voice in shereen 's
'Ma shrebetsh min neelha ...'
it speaks about how we are tied to egypt because we drank from its Nile.
it also shows some cultural practices like women making ka3k for eid , etc

she couldn't help thinking that there was a little
more to life somewhere else -
After all, it was a great big world
with lot's of places to run to....

Airosmith 'I dont wanna miss a thing', it came out just before my first visit to Egypt & i seemed to hear it everywhere; But i felt like i didnt want to miss anything on that holiday, & i still feel the same.
