Same as the subject. I have a piece of glassware I'd like to boil clean, but it has a really cool design painted on it. Is it still safe? It feels like it's been laquered, but I'm not sure and I don't want to ruin it.

Don't boil it, the chances are that you'll damage the design, don't even put it through the diswashe at lowest temp setting, dishwasher soaps are very aggresive too. Hand hot water and a squirt of washing liquid should be enough.

No. you would risk removing the design if you boil it. Try to find another method to clean. Perhaps those cleaning tablets designed for baby bottles may be a better choice.

Why do you feel the need to boil it?
Warm soapy water will do the trick.
