I am going to a family Christmas party in a few weeks. I need to know of a good gift to get for the gift exchange games. It has to be ideal for both men and women and no more than $30.00. I don't want to get a gift card. That's cheating! The age range is 13-60's.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Don't forget we've got a 13 year old here, as well as a 60 year old. They're going to have different tastes. I like the idea of a restaurant card, but again, a 13 year old might not be into that, whereas a 60 year old won't want an mp3 player. Of course, the nice thing about the game is that they fight for it! So you can go with a number of things. You might get lucky and find something on Ebay that would normally cost more. Check out this great website I found. My favorite is perfect for any family member: it's a personalized welcome mat! "The Smith Family" or whatever:

Try buying a shredder; blanket throw; a maze toy that has to be solved to get the gift card; candles; a folding sports chair; a cheap digital picture frame, boardgame like settlers of catan or Nuclear War the card game...

I LOVE those games! You want something that everybody will want; no canned ham. I like the idea of a cheap mp3 player. How about a unisex cologne? or if you live somewhere cold, some sort of ice defroster? or a tin of some kinda goodies? (if they're hungry they'll fight for that!) or a gift basket? oh! how about a nice flower pot with seeds, etc.?

Get some newton balls (balance balls). These are the things where you take a ball from one side and swing it and the ball from the other side bounces out. Sorry for bad explanation but are always loved and hard to throw away.

Get a game - Scrabble or Monopoly.
Could get a simple video game. A book is okay too.
Good luck.
