I have no problem with you disliking Bush, I don't agree with a lot he has done, but comparing him to Hitler?

Here is just a brief overview of criticisms from wikipedia

Bush:
1.1.1 Al Qaeda
1.1.2 Iraq
1.1.3 Torture
1.1.4 Other human rights
1.2 Domestic policy
1.2.1 Civil liberties and expanding government
1.2.2 Economy and Fiscal Policies
1.2.3 Response to Hurricane Katrina
1.2.4 Environment
1.2.5 Dismissal of U.S. attorneys controversy and refusal to testify before Congress
1.2.6 Hostility toward the Poor

Hitler:
Hell, there isnt a criticism page for Hitler. Nobody needs one! Lets just use one thing he did here, and make a comparison.

He killed 6 million people.

He killed 6,000,000 people.

HE KILLED SIX MILLION PEOPLE!

Are people seriously saying what Bush has done wrong is anything even close to the murder of 6 million people?

Oh but if I guess if somebody killed ONE person YOU KNEW, they would be worse than Hitler to, huh?

"Plain and simply there idiots."

You do not know the difference between "there" and "they're"

Therefore you are an idiot, therefore you are Hitler.

"It's quite simple:

Bush is stupid.

Hitler was stupid."

You are human.

Hitler was human.

So you are Hitler.

You two also share many attributes, one of which probably was not intelligence. Regardless of the morality of his actions, Hitler was most likely rather smart to be able to do what he did.

"Bush was in on 9/11 as well, add that to your list."

Dont forget to add then, that Hitler was conspiring with aliens.

Get your facts straight xialou1, and learn how to make a comparison.

Oh, and don't forget that Bush caused Hurricane Katrina by sneezing when he was 34. Butterfly effect and all...

So... Saddam is the Jewish people?

People who say that are idiots, plain and simple.

Now let's rebut a few "facts" people have posted here:

CH:
"How much has the population decreased in Iraq since the occupation?

Its over a million person drop. Granted there is more refugees then deaths but the UN puts Iraq deaths in the 100's of thousands."

People die. That's a fact of war. Hitler put 21 million people to death in concentration camps, as well as starting a war where tens of millions of people died. There's a difference.

"Hitler invaded Poland and France even thought it was unprovoked.
Bush invaded Iraq unprovoked.... Soon Iran..."

Hitler invaded Poland and France with intent to acquire territory. Bush invaded Iraq to remove a dictator and give the Iraqis the same freedoms you enjoy. What do you think would happen to you if you were an Iraqi likening Saddam to Hitler? I'll give you a hint, it wouldn't happen twice.

"Hitler created fear of the Jews
Bush and the Neocon create fear of the Muslims..."

Hitler had primary school teachers telling the childen that the Jews were out to get them. He had six million rounded up and executed. Bush was president at the time America was attacked by Muslims who actually ARE trying to destroy the West.

FreshQueenofNY:

"Although they believe Hitler is dead, Bush is contributing to genocide and fighting - instead of bringing peace."

A war in which people die IS NOT genocide. Rounding up all people of a certain religion and killing them IS. Using chemical weaponry on the Kurds IS. Removing the government that used chemical weapons IS NOT. Find a dictionary.

"ANOTHER THING I WANT TO INCLUDE: IF THEY WERE TERRORISTS BEFORE, HOW THE HELL THEY GOT THEIR I-94 STAMPED WHEN THEY CAME TO UNITED STATES? I MEAN, IF THEY HAVE AFFILIATIONS WITH AL-QAIDA, THEY WOULD OF BEEN KNOWN BEFORE THEY APPLIED FOR A TOURIST VISA."

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't put "Employment History: Terrorist (Hijacking Specialist), Al Qaeda" on my visa application. Also, despite what you may think, the FBI does not recieve weekly updates from Al Qaeda on their current employees.

Khaoss81:

"Hitler blaimed the Jews, Bush blaimed saddam."

Hitler focused the hatred of a nation on a religious group of innocents and had them put to death. Bush held Saddam, a tyrannical dictator, accountable for doing the same thing, for having all dissenters tortured or killed, where the UN just sent angry letters.

Laura B:

"(Though a lot of people do get killed because of stupid gun laws that he coulddo something about)"

What part of "Shall not be infringed" do people like you not understand?

The same reasons Libs think those who don't support Obama are racist. There really are no good reasons, it's just the way Libs don't have any legitimate reasons, so they try to shout the other party down. The answers here are a perfect example. They don't give any reasons, just a few short sentences There will be the predictable ones, inaccurate as they are. Comparing Hitler's supposed Christianity with Bush, so they must be the same! Hitler hated Christianity almost as much as he hated Judaism. Actually Hitler gave more respect to Islam. Jan Brewer was a Nazi because she doesn't want her state over-run with illegals who will demand services and entitlements. But that doesn't make sense either, because the Nazi's would have been checking any and everyone and jailing them for the slightest offenses.

One of the reasons why:

Bush's Grandfather (Prescott Bush) helped fund Hitler on the World War II and helped him rise to power. A lot of people believe that Bush is trying to do the same thing that his grandfather and father did as wars and fighting, to this current date. Like CH (who answered above), said that they both used terrorism as an excuse and fought towards a certain type of society.

Also:
Although they believe Hitler is dead, Bush is contributing to genocide and fighting - instead of bringing peace. Besides the war itself, he makes some think we are in a fight against terrorism when really it's a pack of lies. And, that's what Hitler did. He wanted to "upbring" Germany and promise the Germans (when he wasn't even German in the first place) that they will arise and become a major power, while killing others. It's the concept. It's not about how many people are killed. It's about the act. A murder is a murder, whether it involved one victim or millions.

ANOTHER THING I WANT TO INCLUDE: IF THEY WERE TERRORISTS BEFORE, HOW THE HELL THEY GOT THEIR I-94 STAMPED WHEN THEY CAME TO UNITED STATES? I MEAN, IF THEY HAVE AFFILIATIONS WITH AL-QAIDA, THEY WOULD OF BEEN KNOWN BEFORE THEY APPLIED FOR A TOURIST VISA.

P.S.: Avail - you're correct! A lot of people do not see that we are being watched, and possibly going to be controlled one day. Real ID act is one perfect example.

I think Bush more readily compares to Italian dictator Benito Mussolini - the chest-puffing posture, the verbal bluster, the Napoleon complex. Hitler was a great public speaker, whereas Bush can barely talk. Hitler attacked major powers like Britain, France, and the USSR, whereas Bush invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, and Il Duce went after Albania and Ethiopia. Hitler's people stood by him to the end, whereas Bush has lost support steadily, just as Mussolini did. All three are despicable...

Flipper makes a good point, on a similar note bush is retarded too so by some peoples order of thinking they are like bush and therefore like hitler too - hmm obviously they haven't thought about it much - the only similarity is that they have both ruled a country and done bad things - bush probably didnt do it on purpose though and i have seen no 'breeding the perfect american' programs, killing of old and disabled people or killing of anyone who happens to be a different religion that pi$$ed bush off. (Though a lot of people do get killed because of stupid gun laws that he coulddo something about)
these people are probably mainly conspiracy theorists who think that gravity is a CIA plot to keep us on the planet

First off, I'm not one for doing it, but I can see why it is done.
It has nothing to do with who and what Hitler killed, it has to do with the same leadership tactics used by both.
If you simply look at the tactics used by hitler to control his own people, the attempt to unify under a common perceived threat, and using secret police tactics and hidden surveillance, along with the bullying of his own government, and nationalist type propaganda, you start to see the parallel.

Second, Hitler talked the people into believeing that if they relinquished some of their rights, he could keep them secure from the problems in their society that ailed them.

I have just one comment to a previous answer, before I go ahead and type out my answer: I've been living overseas for almost three years, and I have encountered absolutely NO negativity for being an American. My parents, however, were stationed overseas for two years, and encounted plenty of negativity, especially when they went to Worms.

Anyway, the people who compare President Bush to Hitler are the type of people who believe that the Holocaust never happened, that President Bush caused 9/11, and believe that Hurricane Katrina was Bush's fault.

People like that can't be argued with. It's a waste of time.

Both came to power despite not winning a majority of the vote.
Both were in power when foreign terrorists struck thier countries hard.
Both used the fear of terrorism to introduce new laws giving the government more power at the expense of individual rights.
Both used the fear of terrorism to justify invading unrelated countries, both saying they came not as invaders but as liberators.
Both ran roughshod over thier countries' constitutions.
Both attacked any opponents to thier governments as enemies of the state and played on fear to encourage an inflated sense of nationalism.
While there are obivously significant differences (as you mention) there are also striking parrallels.

I think it's political affiliation to which they are referring. Bush doesn't act, look, or talk like Hitler. Bush is your typical Texas cowboy, with the exception that he is a multi-millionaire or a billionaire who partied his way through Harvard, made some stupid business decisions that failed, became President and made some more stupid decisions. We'll be paying for those for years to come!
