And which section / exhibits do you like best?

I reason I ask is mainly about the exhibits that fellow users like most. I think there is nothing wrong with this.

I visit it every year. The second floor which reopened two years ago after being remodeled because of the eathquakes is my favorite as I have a keen interest in ceramics and pottery. Much of what we know today about life in ancient Greece is pictured on the marvelous paintings on the pottery displayed on the second floor. Each year I discover something new. It is an endless, fascinating trip and I do allocate a day of my time to exploring it. One ought to look closely at the depictions rather than walk through it randomly.

It is amazing. I used to draw there when I was a student. I liked the Kouroi, but also some hellenistic reliefs, like the athlete who puts a wreath on his head, and I also like the Minoic and Mycenean exhibits. It is so exciting to see the funerary mask of Agamemnon, a guy who was in the sphere of legend, even during Antiquity, or a magnificent dagger with golden intarsia.

How can people (not just me) get thumbs down for having been in the museum?

Yes once long time ago and i could bot believe the finesse of the art you could see the veins on the marble of the statue. the old Greeks had a way of making things we can't do today.
